An eight-week applied AI engineering programme for 50 STEM students at the Faculty of Computing. The cohort, all women, built and deployed two computer vision systems on edge AI compute hardware: smart waste sorting with bin monitoring, and automatic licence plate recognition. The Faculty now houses a permanent AI laboratory.
